GYOP 2025 National Winners – Congratulations!
A huge congratulations to Kingfisher Primary School in Kent, our National Winners for 2025!
Kingfisher Primary achieved the heaviest confirmed national weight for Variety 1 (Casablanca/Vitabella), harvesting an impressive 5000g of Casablanca — all grown from just the three seed potatoes supplied in their GYOP kit.
Incredible work, Kingfisher Gardeners!
Congratulations to our Regional winners for 2025

Regional Winners 2025
We’re also delighted to celebrate this year’s Regional Champions, each achieving fantastic harvests:
England: Claygate Primary School, Surrey – 3,224g of Shannon
Scotland: Chirnside Primary School, Berwickshire – 2,000g of Shannon
Wales: Cogan Primary School, Penarth – 2,040g of Shannon
Northern Ireland: Seaview Primary School, Antrim – 4,567g of Celebration
Each school grew their crop from the three seed potatoes supplied in their GYOP kits — an amazing achievement and a testament to the care and enthusiasm of every young grower involved.
Well Done to All Our GYOP Growers!
Thank you to every school that took part in this year’s Grow Your Own Potatoes project. Your hard work, curiosity and brilliant growing skills continue to inspire us year after year.
We can’t wait to see what you grow in 2026!
GYOP Photographic Competition – New for 2025!
This year, for the very first time, we launched a GYOP Photographic Competition. Schools were invited to capture a moment from any stage of the project — planting, growing, caring for the crop, or harvesting.
We were thrilled by the number of fantastic entries sent in from schools across the UK. Every photo showed creativity, curiosity and a real connection with the growing process.
Photographic Competition Winner 2025
A huge congratulations to Manor Park Primary School in Aberdeen, whose winning photo ‘Caught in the Act’ — a stunning image of a bee on a potato flower — truly stood out from all the entries. The picture perfectly captured the magic of nature at work. In fact, we loved it so much that we now have a copy proudly displayed on our office wall!
Keep Sending Us Your Photos!
We absolutely love seeing your growing journeys through your photos, and we encourage all schools to keep sending them in. Who knows — your image might feature on our website or even win next year’s competition!
